Wow I could have written something similar (yet not as beautifully) to this! The quote, ā€œI wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.ā€ So profound and so incredibly eye opening. Thank you for writing and sharing these recipes. I’m so grateful I found your newsletter.

How deep are we supposed to be getting with these forums, Ashley?!! Because WHOA.

Like, just... WHOA.

Anyway, love your words as always (WHOA). I'm craving chicken posole verde, which isn't exciting for New Year's, but will be awfully good and cozy for a cold snowy day. And awfully good doesn't sound like a half bad way to embrace a new year. šŸ’•

Happiest of Happy New Years, Ashley.

I think I like to keep talk of deeply held beliefs on the lighter side when open to the whole wide internet, but gosh it'd be a good conversation. I'm sure you understand better than most what a fine line that might be.

The posole was indeed perfect. I'm on a Mexican kick. Currently dipping wonderful locally made chicharron in your burrito sauce (there are no judgements here, right? It's delicious) while we wait for potatoes and cauliflower to finish. I bought a few extra poblanos, so chili relleno again this week. No one is sad about it.

Next up is Indian food, and this new year is starting off well... 😊

I've always been so thankful that my birthday is at the end of June - it gives me another chance to assess, start a new, have a blank page. I love having a reason to start fresh so close to both the winter and summer solstice. It feels right.
